Just realized my gray interior walls have been getting me down

We recently painted our living room Benjamin Moore Nelson Blue.
It looks blue on sunny days and green on cloudy days.

Before the walls were painted yellow or green or had wallpaper, which narrowed down what I could do, sometimes I just put art I liked up anyway even if it didn't really go. But with this gray, I'm looking at all kinds of fun art and rugs and pillows. Plus this gray is so calming to me and goes perfectly with some blues and greens that I've done in the bedrooms and bathrooms. Maybe once I figure out the decor I'll add an accent wall in a fun color but for now I'm psyched about my gray!

If interested, its BM 1548 Classic Gray.

Classic Gray is nice and I have it in a bedroom. It's a pretty brown-toned/beige gray, not a true gray, so it feels a lot warmer.

OP, how about a cream? It's neutral but warm and has that cheery yellow undertone.

I tested over 10 grey paints - various manufacturers - and the BM products were from light to dark-white dove, classic grey- BM OC 23, revere pewter. Those 3 BM products would work in any light or time of day and don't present at any time as - is it green? lavender? blue? That was a problem with some other brands.

Not much difference between whte dove and classic grey [slightly darker].

I’m with you, OP. I love color. It can be soft or subtle, but color on the wall makes me very happy!

Gray walls are so 2010.

This. Op, you’re likely subconsciously realizing that they are out of style. You’re starting to gravitate towards non grey interiors. Unfortunately when the middle class adopts a style they go crazy with it. They can’t just buy a grey sofa. Its grey walls, floors, furniture, exterior of the house etc. If you want your house to be more current and not scream middle class words on the wall, then paint the interior white or beige.

Same. For years had colorful walls and any that were not were beige. I like the neutral backdrop of the grey.

Same for us. I love our grays and whites and all of the ways I can use color as accents. It feels crisp and clean and light and is a great neutral palate to work with. Our former beiges and creams felt dingy.

grays also make things look dingy. For example, if something is covered in 1" thick dust, it looks gray. Gray= dingy.

I still love my gray walls but am ready to add more color via accents like pillows, art, rugs, and so on. I grew up in houses with all white walls and still hate them. Our bedrooms all have color on the walls but the first floor flows with all one color as a backdrop.

To each his own. But an inch of dust on any color is going to look dingy. But as usual on DCUM, people aren’t allowed to have different opinions. We are another family who likes the gray neutrals vs the beige neutrals.

Bright wall colors are jarring to me. Anything too saturated I can’t live with.

The most important things for my mental health are light and open windows and ceiling fans.

We have a lot of cream in our house and I love it. It's warm and bright.

Then we painted a few rooms in colors - mostly blues and greens.

I don't really like gray but if you're going to use one, Revere Pewter is a good color.

Walls are currently painted beige which I don’t like, but I also don’t want a cold grey.

What about a very soft butter yellow.

We bought a house this fall that had just been freshly painted in BM Classic Gray - we love it! It a warm tone greige and goes well with all of our rugs and furniture. For anyone interested, this YouTube video does a deep dive on it (and the channel, The Paint People, is an amazing resource if you’re making paint color decisions): https://youtu.be/dWK-aeyBfok
