Right. 250 x 4 = 1000 undergraduate athletes |
200 x 4 = 800. smh |
Boola boola! |
That’s not entirely true, because Yale isn’t exactly an athletic powerhouse so their student athletes still have high academic bars. Stanford and Duke on the other hand really are much more selective than their early round acceptance rates suggest because they recruit some of the best college athletes in the world. |
Recruited athletes are recruited athletes. They already are 99 percent sure they have a spot when they apply early regardless if it is take or Stanford or duke. |
Yale or Stanford or Duke. |
| Yes, they have high academics these athletes. Just not the kind of academics that are required of the other students trying to obtain a spot in the class. It is a game UMC families play to get in and it is what it is. But if you look up the varsity athletes at Yale its over 1,000. So that's 250 spots that aren't part of the 777 they accepted. Just so people are clear what their actual chances are. No dog in this fight, just saying. |
| My DD is in!! Public School - Prince William County ! |
| Two SWW kids got in! |
you should read the entire thread next time. |
Nice! I grew up in PWC, public school, went to Cornell (wouldn’t have a hope now, though, lol). Congrats to your daughter! |
| Deferred is better than it used to be. According to the Yale Daily news, about 770 were accepted, 1600 were deferred and around 5200 were rejected. They used to not reject very many, so the deferral was a soft rejection. I think they may actually reconsider these 1600 again, but I’d still be working hard at finding other schools. |
Previous page says 250 athletes admitted this year. SMH |
Yale says 200. SMH |
Wow! Congratulations!!!!! |
