| Congrats Baby Bulldogs!! |
| Friend's son was deferred. |
| only accepted 776, with 250 athletes. So around 526 spots out of 7800 kids. |
Wow! 6.7% acceptance rate taking out athletes. Plus children of mega donors/well connected folks probably take some of those 526 spots. Seems silly for non-athletes to use their early application on Yale at this point. |
I feel the same way. I am an alumni, and child will apply next year. Not even sure it is worth it as a legacy (not a high donor), especially when it means giving up a chance for merit at other schools (some schools require you to apply early action to be considered for merit.) |

| Heard one in at our public school... |
Where is the athlete number published? |
250 athletes sounds crazy high. |

Friend’s dd was accepted
No SAT submitted No hook, not an URM Amazing kid with stellar grades and ECs. Pored over the essays. Public school. It’s beyond amazing. |
| Next door neighbor public school Maryland. No SAT, no hook, male. |
| Congrats to your friend’s kid. Nice to have a little good news to celebrate! |
| IDGI. Athletes are admits too. |
| Yale has a little over 1,050 athletes UG. All of them apply and are excepted through EA. They just mentioned it on their podcast recently. |
According to the AD the number is about 200 a year. Not every athlete is recruited. https://davidholahan.com/profiles/the-new-face-of-yale-athletics |
