The roads are fine. Absurd to call it now, especially for virtual school.

This. My elementary wont start until 11:30!

That’s crazy. After they feed the kids and recess they go home.

Your kids have a 4+ hour recess and lunch? Or are you being dramatic?

The teachers wanted to sleep in.

You’re boring. If teaching is so easy, good news! They’re hiring. You’ll be taking a pay cut though, but I’m sure that’s OK for you to have their sweet, sweet gig.

Please turn into ice.

Hilarious that you think Central Offices cares or even knows what teachers want. Rather than eating to sleep late, teachers probably are grateful for not driving in from PG, HoCo, or AACo during an ice storm.

Parent can't stand to spend the day with their own kids.

So? Teenagers do not need to be at an icy bus stop or on icy roads at 6:45. Get some perspective

Wait until their kids are in high school. They will love the delays then.

every ES kid gets lunch and recess and specials, MS and HS also get lunch with 2 hour delays.I’m not quite sure what your point is… or would you rather them have the day off?

No recess at our ES on delayed days.
Really? I though it was a county wide decision and schools could’t pick and choose.

This is true. Elementary schools have a 30-minute lunch with a delayed opening, but no recess.

Lunch is mandated because without it many food insecure kids would be hungry. Not every meal is guaranteed!

Yes, many will miss breakfast tomorrow. Breakfast is very popular at my MS although it is very low quality. Although we aren’t supposed to, many teachers save the uneaten food for students who arrive late to school or seem to need extras (sometimes to take home).
