Any round table that’s examining only one side of the equation is a liar’s enterprise. Why don’t we talk about anti-blackness among white Jews and what white Jews plan to do about that? Or is it that white Jews don’t their own deeds are relevant to the dynamic between the two communities?

Thought this was a very interesting/illuminating pod in light of what’s been going on the last few months.

This is a joke, right? I had to look up two of the panelists, ostensibly representing Black perspectives, as I had never heard of their names. And I do a lot of work in this space.

I stopped reading once I got to the part about Farrakhan having an “outsized” influence. I’m not clear what — exactly— was meant by that sweeping statement. I am clear that it’s false — by most people’s understanding of what “influence “ means, and I doubt that Weiss cares about the inflammatory inaccuracy.

It’s not 1995. Farrakhan is 90. The NOI is moribund. The great grandson of Elijah Muhammad is a distinguished Harvard professor. Time moves on.

Oh and want to add: I disliked her long ago when she was on Bill Maher and working for the NYT. Her arguments and discussions were as deep as a saucer. She also spends WAY too much time on Twitter (as do many journalists).
