I can't imagine an OB would be set up for this. An RE like SGF has the integrated lab for same-day bloodwork, early morning hrs for daily monitoring etc. Let alone th lab to process the semen sample and then any experience or the right setup to do the procedure.
That said I did IUIs with SGF and they all failed (until IVF worked) |
Wait: did you mean GW does IUIs, or did you mean they specialize in treating morphology? |
| My RE only suggests IUIs for couples with perfect sperm and eggs under age 27. If you have morphology issues, your chances for a successful IUI are extremely low (like single digits). I’d skip IUI in your circumstances (unless you’re very young and the male factor is extremely mild); otherwise you’re just pouring money down the tubes (although sadly not literally). |
| Please share which clinic you're with OP |
Op here. Second IUI worked for the first kid. There’s nothing to skip to. |
Your RE would have lost business from me, then. I got pregnant on first IUI, no fertility drugs except a trigger shot, at age 38. When it came time to try for 2nd kid, we did 3 unmedicated IUIs once again...pregnant on #2 and 3 of those at age 41. Unfortunately both of those pregnancies ended die to anuploidy. However, I still had a 75% overall pregnancy success rate with unmedicated IUIs. |
| Whatever you decide, please avoid JHU fertility. |
Well good luck then. Sounds like you may have an easy time with IUIs and the doctor you used? |
