The Whole Town's talking b y Debbie Macomber.
It's not a fantasy book though. Just a happy story about an arranged marriage, set in Missouri. Perhaps you wouldn't even call it an arranged marriage, since they corresponded first before they met in person. |
I am the person who posted this book suggestion. I just remembered today that I wrote down the wrong author. Oops. Fannie Flagg authored this book. |
| Erotic Tales for Punjabi Widows. |
| Probably not what you’re thinking of, if the romance ends up being between the married partners, but We Set the Dark on Fire technically fits. Dystopian novel where each powerful man gets to marry two women selected and trained for two different skill sets |
That's scifi...did you even read it? |
| The Velvet Series by Jude deveraux. But they’re historical romances… |
It’s the kind of sci fi where the “science” is effectively magic so given that OP enjoyed a made up fantasy world I assumed she would enjoy this made up fantasy world. |
| The Fire’s Stone by Tanya Huff |
Fantasy readers don't typically enjoy scifi. |
What poll did you get that from? There is a huge crossover in fans of both genres. |
Lol ok. - fantasy reader who initially made the suggestion |
| His Only Wife |
+1 There's a huge crossover. Just look at the tags from some of your favorite reviewers on Goodreads. |
| The Winter King by CL Wilson. |
It crosses over the other way - sci fi readers usually enjoy fantasy, but fantasy readers avoid sci fi. It's something I've discussed extensively with my agent while debating putting a fantasy manuscript on sub. |
