Healthy/Organic food at Costco?

I also get organic carrots, spinach, romaine, frozen veggies, eggs, and milk. I won't buy the organic ground beef because it's too expensive, 3lbs for $12.99. I do buy the all natural hormone and antibiotic free chicken.

That's cheaper than Whole Foods ground beef.

Also organic eggs. I switch b/w Pentagon Costco and Fairfax. Pentagon has organic but they're Egg's Best or some such and in foam packaging, which I don't love (but do buy when there). Ffx has a Kirkland (Costco) brand organic higher DHA cage free certified humane eggs in better (plastic, recyclable) packaging. I hope Pentagon carries them eventually (perhaps not enough supply yet to get to all the stores).

Organic quinoa. Healthy canned soups (if you buy canned goods). Fresh organic spinach and spring mix.

Can't beat the value and quality of the bags of nuts (pecans, walnuts, etc.). Fabulous.

Organic peanut butter.

The Kirkland canned tuna is very high quality.

Big tubs of Sabra hummus. So good.

I wish Costco sold more organic food- I suppose I should write a letter.

If I draft one and post it here, would others consider copy / pasting and also sending (strength in numbers).

There are so many things I don't buy there- red peppers, strawberries, apples, but I would if they would get organic versions.

I have to think a lot of people would be similarly inclined. At least if they would stock organic versions of the "Dirty Dozen" fruits and vegetables, I think that would be a great start.

I don't buy their organic milk- cheaper at TJ's or grocery store.

Me too.

I also wish they had grass-fed beef.

That's because Whole Foods is a big rip off and extremely expensive. I doubt their organics are even organic as they are imported from China.

I disagree. I think the quality of the food is pretty good at Whole Foods. Also, take into consideration the fact that Costco Organic Ground Beef is only 80 percent lean as opposed to Whole Foods which is at least 90 percent lean ( can't remember if it's 90 or 95). It's cheaper at Costco b/c there's more fat in the product.
