Healthy/Organic food at Costco?

Anonymous
Can you recommend any healthy/organic foods that you buy when you go to Costco? We're heading there tomorrow and I'd love to stock up.

Thanks!

I buy the organic salad greens, organic ground beef and organic milk.

organic greens, chicken, beef, milk, yogurt (single servings), various fruits (currently strawberries and raspberries in our area), carrots, and lots of other assorted organic "pantry" items such as pastas, sauces, dressings; organic frozen vegetables, organic bread.

see, now i have never once seen organic raspberries or strawberries at the Costco in Pentagon City. Or organic bread in a package. Where do you live, 14:44?

Organic cereals, meat, frozen foods, granola bars. We don't go through the fresh food quickly enough.

I assumed that the PP meant those were "healthy" choices and not necessarily organic. I, too, have never seen organic raspberries, strawberries or bread at Costco.

About 900 miles from DC, so clearly there are regional differences. It is my understanding that even within reasonably close locations, the stores stock differently based on the demographics/purchaser preferences. In my area, only one of the area stores carries a lot of organic products - not so much in locations within our general "area" but out of the pocket where your usual organic food buyers lurk.

Ours has organic bread -- I buy it in Woodbridge but am pretty sure I've also purchased it at Pentagon City.

Organic peanut butter as well as organic dairy.

I see the off topic police are doing their part to make sure "Off Topic" = "Totally Useless"

At the Costco in Maui, you can get fresh local fish as well as a huge container of sashimi of local fish - so cheap and yummy!

My kids love the organic rice beans and cheese burritos in the frozen food section. Not super low cal, but I feel better about them heating one of these up in the microwave when they get home from school instead of trolling for snack food.

I like their organic ground beef. Comes in these little three packs of 1 lb each. Really tasty. Had burgers with it tonight.

Our Costco had samples of organic animal crackers yesterday. Not the healthiest thing, but it was a good distraction for my one year old!

Beltsville has the organic bread. I get the organic peanut butter and organic jelly as well and organic juice boxes. I also get organic carrots, spinach, romaine, frozen veggies, eggs, and milk. I won't buy the organic ground beef because it's too expensive, 3lbs for $12.99. I do buy the all natural hormone and antibiotic free chicken.
