| Just bought a kit at CVS that ROCKS. you know how the kits always fall apart? This one has “tabs” that give it so much more strength during the frosting-as-glue phase. Best $14.99 ever! |
| Use a glue gun to assemble the house- no one is eating it and you can get to the fun part faster! |
This, plus do it ahead of time. Supply other cut out cookies, fresh icing and candy decorations for kids to decorate and eat. |
Kids aren’t going to eat the actual gingerbread. None of them taste good since they are made to be harder and sturdier than a gingerbread cookie. They kids will only be eating the candy. But just know assembling them isn’t a quick process. You have to do it in stages, carefully, letting it harden a bit between steps, then ideally sit overnight before decorating. Having a bunch of young kids over to assemble and decorate at the same time will be a disaster. Older kids could do it, but under 8, you either need to assemble ahead of time or buy pre assembled. |
| Graham crackers, simple icing, leftover halloween candy. |
