She is the worst human being.

That is not such a pretty story. I had high hopes for them
She suffers from depression, neither has been able to get over the loss or start a new life
The adoptive parents seem a little cold, they are being manipulated with visitation that is promised and then cancelled
Ironically they could have kept their baby and been ok
Adoption does not always end in a beautiful fairy story

I doubt the adoptive parents had any idea the circus this show would bring. I can very much see myself being welcoming to regular visitation / relationship normally and then very very guarded and protective of a child when the visitation came with decades long reality tv side show of drama. who wouldn't want to protect their child from that. the parents (i forget their names) could easily drop out of the show any time and live a private life and most likely have more access

True. But she became a porn star!

Aside from that, she treated her parents terribly. I have not seen such an entitled, mean, nasty brat who was also sooo needy. How is she your favorite, just how?

Leah, is that one that beat Gary and goes to jail all the time? Am I remembering her correctly, if so you can’t be serious.

Leah was super messy in the early years, but I really like her now.

We can all agree that Janelle is the absolute worst though, right?

Seriously wondering if my GenX generation missed this reality phenomenon because I have no idea who these people are and only vaguely know there was once a show on MTV right about the time I stopped watching the network.

Is MTV still around? Are these shows still on? Do they follow these teens as they grow older or introduce new teens?

NP here but I watched 16 & Pregnant from the beginning and continued with both Teen Mom shows until they got really horrible a couple years ago. Around when they had to kick Jenelle off and then they added a bunch of randos. I’m as GenX as they come (I’m 49) and watch less reality TV than almost anyone I know - never have watched Survivor, the Amazing Race, any Housewives anything. But I was pregnant with my second kid at the same time as Maci, the first 16&P/Teen Mom and I thought it would be interesting to watch in that context. 16 & Pregnant was a really good documentary-style show that I think did a great job of representing what teen pregnancy can really be like. The Teen Mom continuation was trashy but at that point I wanted to see what happened.
