GW IVF Clinic - Dr. F leaving?

my previous doc was dr humm, who's moved to SGF. anyone know about the process of transferring embryos from GW to SG?

This is me. We were going to follow Dr Humm but then SG told us the process of doing the paperwork for them to agree to take our embryos takes 3-4 months. Which feels bananas cause we’ve already signed it all. So that makes us want to keep them at GW.

But then with GW having only one RE, that means the clinic will have to basically shut down when he leaves for ten day’s vacation in April. And I do worry that something unexpected will happen to him— like say he gets COVID, or unexpectedly quits — then anyone at that clinic is just screwed! Our transfer cycles will be primarily unmedicated, so I also worry about the April break derailing one or more cycles.

But just now I told SG were not moving the embryos there cause we can’t wait that long and they called to tell me they’ll make it happen in less than a month for me. Aaaaaa!!!! I don’t know what to do!!!!

I would just move the embryos. I moved eggs from GW to another clinic and the process was actually very easy. I had a mixed experience at GW, but even with 3 doctors I felt like monitoring wasn’t great (they tended to avoid monitoring on the weekend) and that’s just so important, particularly in an unmedicated cycle.

Which clinics accept embryos in this area? Does sgf? I remember they did not in the past

I saw Dr Comstock and was crushed when she left.

You were right about this. I just found out I won’t be able to cycle this month because he’s going on vacation. Not happy about it. I know everyone needs a vacation but the timing with this stuff is so sensitive.

Dr H just informed me that GW Fertility is closing. They will finish up in progress treatments for next few weeks but not starting any new treatments. Should’ve known something was up when Dr. F and Nurse M left in December smh. I have an appointment with a Dr at Columbia Fertility next week. Will ask about transferring my eggs.
