How long to wait to take baby out if born in summer time?

Anonymous
If you are really worried, maybe wait until about 2 weeks to go to public places. And just put a blanket over the infant carrier, so people don't touch the baby's face and hands or use a bjorn or something like that. As for regualr walks, I think, pretty much as soon as mom is up to it.

what in the world do you think is going to happen if you take her out the first day? Fresh air will not hurt her.

All the peds say this, which I think is insane and PPD inducing. One daycare-attending older sibling is far more of an issue then random people at the mall who won't be touching/coughing on your baby. Babywearing is a great way to keep people away if you're really worried.

I agree with all of this.
