| Are all of these kids getting tattoos paying for them themselves? I wouldn’t give my kid money for a tattoo. |
They’re adults. They use their own money. |
| I don’t understand why this is such a big deal. I got a tattoo in college and have never wanted another. I rarely think about it and it hasn’t impacted my life in any way. Why on earth would you CRY if your adult child got a tattoo? |
| I’m a lawyer without tattoos and I see plenty of tattoos on coworkers, attorneys and support staff. I don’t think it’s a big deal anymore and there’s not really a need to make sure they can be covered in professional settings. When it comes up, the people I know do not seem to regret their tattoos. |
|
People I know who got their tattoos later in life tend to like them, but if the tattoos were chosen before they were in their mid 20s, there seems to be more regret. A friend of mine is in sales and has been limited to working behind the scenes, mainly because she has several very visible tattoos. Her parents warned her, but she ignored them. It might be fine in a law office, but apparently not so fine meeting with certain types of sales clients.
Your adult kids may have to learn the hard way. |
| Tattoos and body piercings anywhere (but ears on women) are gross and a sign of low class. |
+1 Really disgusting. Tell your son your true thoughts on the matter. |

It’s 2022. More people than you think have tattoos these days. It could be hidden on their arms if you mostly see them in long sleeves, or on their legs if you mostly see them in pants. It could be on their wrists or necks and you never really noticed. There isn’t a negative perception by most people unless theyare old. Even then, older professionals/execs have to look past visible tattoos as companies usually can’t discriminate against a person having them. |
(Puts ink dot on DCUM bingo card) Now where's the low self esteem poster? |

I have tattoos. I am a well-paid professional. IDC if you think I'm trashy. I like them and they're meaningful to me.
My college age kids also have tattoos. We even all 3 have a matching one. |
