Husband’s idiocy strikes again

Today, is my anniversary. Husband had the day off. I’m cooking tomorrow and we had nice dinner reservations tonight. Luckily only one guest coming over.

What did he do? He started work on the master bedroom closet renovation. Why today of all days? Only his brain knows the answer. I don’t even have a bed to sleep on. I canceled reservations and I’m moping on the swing set.

Just a vent and commiseration. I’ll try to be thankful for him tomorrow.

Why did you cancel reservations?

Why did you cancel reservations?

Because I hoped it would give him enough time to get our room in order for at least sleeping. Plus I’m pretty pissed? Disappointed? Frustrated?

If your husband is the idiot you proclaim and you have kids big enough to be uncomfortable on a pullout sofa then I'd say you've known him long enough to be making reservations yourself to proactively prevent this type of frustration.

Since you didn't do that I'm wondering who really is the idiot here?

Go away. Moms don’t need to do everything. Go rant about your MIL

No, sorry. We’re not giving men free passes for learned helplessness anymore.

Ok. In my marriage my husband and I each did the stuff we were good at. It did not divide along sexist lines either. For instance, I mowed the grass, he sewed the curtains. Just one example.

Doesn't that make a bit more sense than ranting like a shrew on DCUM because your husband screwed up the hotel reservation?

Next time you feel like venting after a bad day, we'll make sure to rip you to shreds, just because of what you did here.

43yo mom here. I’m genuinely amazed that your children can’t share a sofa-bed. Are you aware people sleep on the floor sometimes? That some people sleep on the street? Please tell us why they can’t! Will they manage in a twin size bed when they go to college?

Let her vent, FFS.

Do you want to sleep on a sofa bed?

Let him manage the kids and the sleeping. If they whine they whine to him.

I book our hotels myself. But my husband is also capable and competent.

I have 2 6 footers and they can sleep on a pull out together no problem.

Well, that will never happen, but I'm wondering how come you want to attack me but not the commenter who called the OP a miserable loser and said they were pathetic for posting this on a public website? What horriblel punishment do you have designed for them?
