Yeah, but then your diploma says "School of Continuing Studies" on it.

True, but everyone will just put "Georgetown" on their resume, so.....good for jobs, bad for grad school I guess

Except all employers I know of, Fed or not, are required to verify - and it will be documented both "online" and 'School of Continuing Studies" - one is not great, two are well, really not great.

What employers other than the government verify education? I haven't had anyone look at my education, which isn't even on my resume, since grad school applications.

It is.

Because one of the Georgetown Haters thinks he has an edge now.

LOLZ.

Is this because of the condition of their dorms?

It's an open secret that Georgetown is hard up on cash.

If they only knew not to ask for donations before you graduate - anyone hear John Mulaney?? He has a few good rants re: Georgetown.

Harvard has had continuing education since 1910 -so have most other “great” schools

Not even an "open secret." Simply a fact.

I've worked for two investment banks; both verified all three of my degrees. My BS, my MBA, and a Master's I have that is completely unrelated to my career.

Future employers don't ask to see the diploma. The resume will say Georgetown.

Is this online bachelor's in literally "liberal studies" or available in concentrations actually offered by the brick and mortar GU? Because if it's the former, that alone teases out this is not a traditional degree.

HR verifies and the hiring official would never know. I never hear anything about what HR does behind the scenes. They just produce the list and let me know if they flunk their drug test (hasn’t happened yet), etc. I would only know if the candidate indicated as such on their resume.

I think this is great as well. My DC at a another name university needed some online options this semester for mental health reasons and there is almost nothing that was going to help move her ahead. I don’t understand why colleges didn’t keep some blend of online and in person post Covid it makes no sense to me.

Our large non profit does. But only if its required as part of the job description. These days many people find it discriminatory though so many are now omitting the education requirement for entry level jobs.

Pretty great. Especially that it's affordable.

All employers that I have ever heard of check a potential employees record, including basic details of their college.
