Agree that rhubarb=spring. OP, if you don't want to go with seasonal traditional choices, go for year round options, something chocolate based perhaps. |

One of our family favorites is Chocolate Silk Pie. My niece made this one last year. It was devoured in a nanosecond. She used a recipe from the magazine. I am pretty sure this is the same one.

That cranberry curd tart is fabulous. Make it a cranberry meringue pie (via NYT).
And of course there is always mince pie, which is considered essential in my family. |

I’m off pecan pie lately, so I’ve been making lemon chess pie instead for the past couple of years.. It adds a nice brightness.
