| For thanksgiving this year. Everyone wants to try something new. Thanks in advance for your suggestions! |
| How do you feel about Apple cranberry? |
| Pear tart? Chocolate chess? |
| NYT Cooking has some nice new options this year. |
| Pp here, their cranberry curd tart is also delicious! |
| Also, you could just not do pie. A cheesecake, or brownies, or... whatever! |
| Cranberry orange glacé? Now *I* want to make that for thanksgiving actually. |
|
You could go British and do a mince pie--but think they're gross.
I like peach pies, but it's the wrong season. I like the suggestion above of a pear tart. Or cheesecake. I'd be happy to get either of those for dessert. |
| Lemon meringue |
| Sweet potato would be the other obvious choice. I like cherry. |
|
How about an apple cake?
Part of the point of Thanksgiving is to celebrate a good harvest by enjoying foods that are in season, so any fruit harvested in the fall could be good. |

Blueberry FTW

| Strawberry rhubarb - my uncle's favorite |

Fudge Brownie Pie
Melt 1/2 c. butter and 3 squares (1 oz. each) chocolate in double boiler or microwave. Remove from heat. Stir in 1 c. sugar, 1/3 c. white Karo, 1/4 c unsifted flour, 1 tsp. vanilla, 1/4 tsp. salt. Stir in 3 eggs slightly beaten. Pour into crust *, bake 30-35 min (or until filling is firm in center) at 350 degrees. * My grandmother put 1/2 c - 1 c nuts in bottom of crust before pouring in chocolate filling and baking, but my famiky has always preferred it without the nuts, delicious either way. |
Where are you finding rhubarb this time of year? (I would commit crimes for rhubarb crisp at thanksgiving ngl.) |
