Sorrow, by the National. |
O No, Andrew Bird |
I've recently been pulling out some old favorites from years ago to share with DS:
David Gray, Indigo Girls, 10,000 Maniacs, Melissa Etheridge, Tuck and Patty (or is it Patti?) |
10,000 Maniacs=old gold. Also Natalie Merchant solo songs like Wonder, Carnival and Kind and Generous. Really old stuff-Jefferson Airplane, The Worst of Jefferson Airplane and Renaissance, A Song For All Seasons. |
Ryan Star. Breathe. Love him. |
How in the world do you all stay on top of music?!? I feel stuck in my college/grad school rut. |
I was stuck in the 80s for 3 weeks with Glamour Life (Sheila E) and Talking In Your Sleep (Romantics). This week it's Floor on Fire (Pitbull). Can't get enough of that one. |
Hey Soul Sister by Train. |
Well, for a long time, I wasn't. But then I kind of fell in love with a certain musician. From there, I started to follow him a bit online. And then saw several of his concerts. He had some fantastic opening acts, and many of the fans online introduced me to other artists. It's been a lot of fun to see some of these groups/artists get their start and hang with them in clubs and now a few are getting prominent radio play. |
do you listen to this around the kids? |
not necessarily new but on heavy rotation at our house: Ryan Adams (esp stuff with the Cardinals and Whiskeytown), Tristan Prettyman, Brett Dennen, The Dead Weather. |
Paolo Nutini is my new favorite--he has such a range btwn two albums, I couldn't stop listening. Finally looked up his bio and found out he's very young 20s Scottish lad, and boy I felt like a cougar! |
Today was a fairy tale
By Taylor Swift - so cheesy and I hate most country but that is definitely more pop and it's super catchy. Plus that taylor is a cutie. |
Not the pp you quoted, but give me a break. I love Robot Chicken, but I'd never watch that in front of my kids. Hell, I wouldn't even watch the Daily Show with them in the room. Being a parent doesn't mean that you have to listen to Wiggles Records exclusively until the kids hit HS. Back on topic.... my Flavor of the Moment Fave is probably Savior by Rise Against. My all time favorite I'd have to get back to you about. |
Shakira - Gypsy
U2 --pretty much anything from any album Beausoleil The Byrds version of Dylan's My Back Pages, "Ah, I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now." Eclectic, huh? ![]() |
