What are your thoughts on Snoop?

I met snoop twice. First time summer 1992. Of all places Dockers in Westhampton NY. Near Sean Combes house and old MTV Beach house. In Hamptons by himself. He had his first hit with Dr. Dre. But more West Coast star. In case you see out there Dockers has a Spectacular view of sunset over the water on Dune Road. So people go at that time on Saturday.

We said hi Calvin. His real name. He turned around. We talked like 20 minutes. We were even joking he was there by himself no posse or bodyguards. He was laughing not in the Hamptons all these white Folks no Need.

A few years later I was on a business trip in LA and a brand new talk show was giving out tickets. Was Jimmy Kimmel show first week. After show I said hi. Jimmy did a bar after hour party thing as new show. I introduced myself he seemed to remember me chatted a minute. Or at least pretended to.

Don’t laugh I used to from 21-34 used to meet a lot of celebs. Maybe 100 of then, some are not nice, some are really friendly, some just ignore you. He was nice.

I was going to be bummed if you said he was a jerk.

One thing that made an impression on me was when his son announced his commitment to play football at UCLA, Snoop (a very high profile and dedicated fan of USC, their rival) showed up wearing a UCLA jersey. I remember a sportswriter commented “Today I discovered that Snoop Dogg is a better father than I will ever be.”

I met Snoop and he was so nice! I was working for a cruise company and in a local hotel lobby dealing with room keys. He’d given a concert in my town the night before and the elevator opened up and it was him. I was a 19 year old and much bolder then so I stopped him and his entourage to say hi. There was no one else around in the lobby and he took a few minutes to sign a couple autographs and take a picture with me.
