Wow, I was just thinking about him and this topic, when I was watching his latest commercial for Corona.

Honestly, I think he represents a lot of what has gone downward in society. The fact that his act has been monitized to shill for corporate America is ridiculous.

I get it, he's earned his way thru hard work, I just don't find his character one that convinces me to buy anything and its annoying that he is beating away endorsement opportunities with a glass bong.

I'm sure this isn't popular and I will be reminded of it in due tjme.

I remember when he was all over Dre’s The Chronic and then in ‘93 he came out with Doggystyle. It was a masterpiece and Snoop re-defined west coast rap at the time. The ‘90s put out the best in hip hop and I’m so glad that was my generation of music. Some people like to call snoop a sellout, but can you think of a more successful one? He lived the thug/broke/drug dealer/gangbanger life, who can blame him for wanting to enjoy the fruits of his labor and take advantage of the opportunities offered to him. He’s created a marketing and branding empire. You’d be hard pressed to find many kids nowadays who can name any of the biggest rappers from the 90s; but you’d be harder pressed to find any who have never heard of Snoop. I was a fan from his features on The Chronic and I’m a fan to this day. I love Snoop and I appreciate what he did for the cultures.

Snoop had nothing to do with this and actually took legal action against the company.

+1. Cali girl here and totally agree. I’d add Ice Cube as well. Chronic is best rap album of all time with 2001 a close second. Love Snoop! If the only thing can complain about him is him smoking a bong (which is fully legal now and done by many mainstream celebrities), he’s got many more successful years ahead of him. I also love that he’s still married to Shante after all these years.

His friendship with Martha Stewart is still bizarre to me after so many years.

I used to think it was for pr, but they seem to have a genuine long term friendship.

So strange

They both love money.

I’m from Long Beach. Blows my mind that he’s selling stuff to middle aged white ladies.

He was on trial for murder in the 90s. He did it and got away with it.

Dude has the best PR reps in Hollywood.

I should invite him over for tea and dessert.
