Snickers/m&m/Milky Way multipack from Costco tastes bad

It's well known that Mars, Nestlé, and Hershey changed their ingredients bc the price if cocoa skyrocketed (horrible fungus) awhile back so they pivoted and added more hydrogenated oils in lieu of the cocoa.

It's not bc you purchased it at Costco.

You can buy German chocolate at Lidl or Aldi.

We bought the huge Costco bag of chocolates too. I noticed that the M&M's were not normal tasting, like there was less chocolate in them. That's the only thing I noticed was off.

Chocolate quality has been all over the board lately and paying top dollar is no guarantee of quality. Does anyone remember Mast Brothers Chocolate? It had so much buzz and people swore it was so good. The packaging was amazing but the chocolate was grainy and bitter and thin flavored. And it was expensive.

I miss when most chocolate tasted decent. Finding a sweet treat worth the calories shouldn’t be a lift. I like Little Secrets chocolate but it’s not available everywhere.

I’m on the see’s mailing list and order whenever they do free shipping. Their stuff is still good and still union made in the US. It’s my favorite. Ferrer Rocher still tastes good too. Europe regulates their chocolate to the hilt so the manufacturers can’t cheap out.

Chocolate Love (their label is Chocolate XOXO) is really good, limited ingredients and inexpensive. It routinely goes on sale at Whole Foods for around $2.50 a bar. Once you try it, you won't go back. Even my kids eat the dark chocolate versions (although they prefer milk chocolate). It will make you a chocolate snob.
