I chose Wake in the end, but Bucknell was such a gorgeous setting. It snowed the day I visited, and it was just picturesque, the way the campus flowed nicely into the cute little town.

sharing this article on the building of Wake's current campus, and it mentions Bucknell https://zsr.wfu.edu/2021/a-tale-of-two-campuses-how-was-the-second-one-built/

Cool story. I’m still waiting for one of these outrageous allegations to be actually true.

let the haters come forth lol…
I don’t view Bucknell as a small liberal arts school. It’s unusual in that it has an Engineering school, for its size. The other schools are Arts and Sciences and Business. It seems like a school focused on practical education. The drive up from our area is pretty nice, especially along the Susquehanna.

What do you mean by “parchment,” OP?

From their website

This is honestly a great size IMHO - not too big but also not too small. Goldilocks size

Wake was this size in the 90s, too.

Those three schools are entirely different. Bucknell has never been hidden, also. 🙄

The campus is awful looking

yeah PP, that’s why the parchment reference is key - means the kids actually applied to (and were presumably interested in) both

so yeah they are different - but for kids who applied to and were admitted to both, bucknell was the choice

my DS isn’t looking for a melting pot for college - he likes a small, warm, supportive environment with kids similar to him.

i know that’s horrendous to say on this forum - how dare he doesn’t crave a diverse eclectic college environment

oh and i heard the wall street alumn hire bucknell kids with a passion bordering on zealotry

It's very white.

Your son will fit in just fine.

Then why do I hate the people I know that went there?

Very white, bro-culture

After the awful attack on the LGBTQ house I will not encourage my child to go there. (He is straight, BTW. )

my comment was about the pre professional vibe at the school. But thanks for immediately assuming he’s white, which he’s not. DCUM’s finest stepping up on the grandstand to proselytize as usual!
