Trick or Treating DC

Small town Michigan was and is still the Saturday night before Halloween. Nobody wants to deal with tired, sugar-hungover kids the next morning at school or trying to get them there. And it allowed for trick of treating to go from 4 pm to whenever the porch lights turn off because they're out of candy, frequently well after 8 pm.

If you're a small town it's a lot easier to coordinate everything. It's more complicated in big suburban neighborhoods.

Also the whole point of Halloween is getting to stay out late one night a year and then be a sugared up gremlin in the next day and I don't know why people need to get their panties in a twist about it. You are absolutely welcome to opt out of trick-or-treating if that's not something you want to participate in just keep your lights off and don't do it.

My small hometown in Ohio does it the Sunday afternoon before Halloween, unless Halloween falls on a weekend. It’s from 2-4:00pm. Totally lame.

In the middle of the day? That is majorly lame.
