I don’t know the answer, but I know you are youngish by the fact that you even posed such a question. Us elderly crones with fallen arches don’t even walk to the bathroom barefoot.

Yoga style work outs? Barefoot is preferable

Anything with jumping, weights, etc - wear shoes

I prefer Brooks. Ghost and Glycerin have been my go to models.

I need new sneakers/workout shoes. I'll mostly wear them to:

* Zumba classes
* Go for walks on sidewalks (as opposed to in woods)
* Walk on treadmill
* Resistance training on gym equipment (in case that matters, though I can see not so much would involve feet? I don't know, this is all new to me...)

I have almost flat feet, so a bit of arch support and also as I get older ankle support is helpful, but more important is which kind of shows are best for walking & Zumba.

Any recs? Thank you!

Sorry, but no single shoe will work well for all those activities. Also, why do people recommend a brand rather than a model? It's not helpful.

Asics gel numbus and Nike Metcons are not models? I thought the "gel nimbus" and "Metcon" were models... I haven't looked them up yet though, but they sound like models

I think they are referring to the PP who said generically ASICS are best for women. Yes, the others are models.

Which asics gel nimbus should I get - 23 or 24?

I'm the OP and I don't even know what a choice of 23 or 24 means, but I'll be looking at some shoes tomorrow so maybe it'll all make sense...

Thanks again for all your input everyone! And I'll keep checking back, if anyone has other recommendations on best sneakers for this. Thanks!

go to a running store and get fitted. What works for one person doesn't work for another because we all have different feet.
