Can I leave eggs in my car for 2 hours today?

100% fine. Park in a shady spot if you can after shopping.

Parking outside? Or covered parking?
Find a shady spot

Sometimes I buy some inexpensive frozen veggies to put next to an item I want to stay chilled in my car.

The seafood counter staff will give you a bag of ice -- I always get one when I buy fish.

That said, totally unnecessary for eggs.

They sell eggs at room temperature at many markets in the world. Totally fine in this weather.

Yes.

But doesn’t that have to do with the fact that they’re washed we’re not washed? I can’t imagine it’s good for the eggs to be going in and out of refrigeration. All I know is when I go visit my home country and I buy non refrigerated eggs, I often times get spoiled eggs.

It’s totally fine.

I think the trunk will be cooler than the car.

You will absolutely be okay, OP.

Actually, you do need to refrigerate eggs purchased in the US because the protective bloom has been washed off.

This is correct. Once the eggs have been washed, they need to be refrigerated.

+1 I do this, too. A bag of frozen corn or peas or something is very inexpensive. Buy one or two and put them on top of the eggs.

Also, because of Ian, it is cloudy all over the DMV today and the temp won't get above 70. You'll be perfectly fine leaving the eggs in your car for 2 hours, with or without the frozen veggies.

The eggs will be used for baking (home use), if it matters.

If the yolk is intact when you crack the egg, the egg is good to use.
