City Slickers |
| TV series- Deadwood. I love it so much. |

Good ones mentioned. Tombstone and Deadwood are my tops for movie and series.
I also have a soft spot for Conagher, a 1991 made-for-tv movie based on a Loius L'Amour novel about a lonely prairie widow (Katharine Ross) who ties her poetic thoughts onto tumbleweed and lets them fly across the prairie. A taciturn cowboy (Sam Elliott) finds them and then finds her, of course. |
| The Mandalorian |
| Lonesome Dove |
| Tombstone is my favorite! |

Another vote for Tombstone.
Also, loved Dances with Wolves. |

Rio Bravo - very modern, actually Howard Hawkes is like that.
and The Searchers - classic John ford |
|
Also Bobba Fett- the first few episodes especially. In fact Star Wars itself is a bit of a space western. https://www.tor.com/2020/10/06/a-long-time-ago-on-a-ranch-far-far-away-star-wars-as-a-space-western/ I'll echo others here- Tombstone, Deadwood are my favorites. 5:10 to Yuma is fantastic and the remake 310 to Yuma is also quite good. The Searchers should be added to your list. And for humor- Community's season two finale is called A Fistful of Paintballs and is a homage to the spaghetti western and it's fantastic. The second half- For a Few Paintballs More- is an homage to the space western. |
Speaking of space westerns, I'll add Firefly and Serenity to the list. Mostly Firefly, though -- a definite frontier feel. |

Another vote for Tombstone! — who’s your huckleberry?
And butch cassidy and the Sundance kid .. one of redford’s best, definitely. I also have wanted to rewatch Silverado which is the movie where Kevin Costner really got his start, but haven’t seen it showing anywhere. |
