| Last night I had three conversations with completely unrelated people about completely unrelated topics and they all used the phrase "there's a new sheriff in town". It got me thinking . . . DH and I have watched and enjoyed a few "modern" Westerns (The News of the World, Unforgiven, and True Grit come to mind), but we've probably missed a few and we never watch classic Westerns. If you're a fan of the genre, what would you recommend? |
| Buffalo bill fool |
| Definitely the Magnificent Seven. |
I'm referring to the original Magnificent Seven, of course. Haven't seen the reboot. |
| Blazing Saddles. |
| The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance |
|
Tombstone
The good the bad and the ugly Lonsome Dove |
| The Good, the Bad and the Ugly definitely needs to be on your list. Also the first two movies A Fistful of Dollars and For a Few Dollars More. |
Don’t forget Hang ‘Em High! |
|
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
Dances with Wolves |
|
The Searchers
High Plains Drifter Rio Bravo Once Upon A Time in the West |
|
Oh my god!
I have never loved anything better then a Roy rogers burger. |

Amazon Prime has an expansive library of excellent Westerns. I’ve been down the rabbit hole last two weeks and found these gems;
- Missouri Breaks - Old Henry - True Grit (orig) |
| Young Guns |
| Justified |
