| +1 to Buy Nothing. I have a size 8-10 boys suit and a pair of boys dress shoes I'm looking to give away now. (Rockville/Potomac just in case that's your neighborhood.) |
| Buy Nothing or local moms FB group. I got a ralph lauren suit for my 8 year old's 1st Communion this spring for $15. I just posted asking if anyone had a navy suit that they were interested in selling, worked great and I'll use it for the 2nd kid's communion in a few years. |

Earlier this year we attended a celebration of life for my H's stepfather. My son wore a suit. I found a nice one from H&M for less than $50. I ordered a couple of sizes and returned what I did not use...it was nice to order each item separate so I could get the sizing correct. I also ordered suite pieces from Target but the H&M one was more slim fit and fit my son better. I ordered an inexpensive pair of leather shoes from Amazon.
What I would not recommend is ordering a size up "just in case." I did that for a wedding a few years ago and my son wore a suit that was too big. This time I went into it buying something that fit him perfectly for the occasion. I'm glad I did. |
I completely agree with this. A small child does not need to wear a suit to a wedding. OP, you also don't indicate whether the child is part of the wedding party or just a guest. If wedding party, then I would think that bride and groom would have given instructions on attire. If just a guest, dress pants and button-down shirt are more than fine. It is a CHILD. |
