Lucky you. But the administration has rarely been good and that harms some students who don't get the good teachers. |
+1 Litz and the administration did a good job. |
Wow, these Kilmer posts are hijacking this thread, folks. This isn't about the pyramid and people's gripes about Kilmer. Maybe start your own thread to talk about Kilmer. This is about a specific incident of concern to Marshal families. |
It was about the Marshall incident and Litz's communications, until a poster used it as a pretext to claim the administration is excellent across the entire Marshall pyramid, including the ES and MS. Sorry, but that doesn't fly. |
Yet you could have ignored it or started your own thread about Kilmer. |
Or PP could have refrained from an obviously ludicrous statement. |
I'm not the person who posted this statement - but just because your experience has not been the same does not mean her opinion/experience is ludicrous. |
Of Kilmer’s last four principals, three were duds (one demoted, one disliked and then moved to a job in Gatehouse where he has less contact with parents and students, and one suddenly replaced with no explanation to parents), and the one who received accolades was there only two years. Suggesting the Marshall pyramid has had great administration across the board at the ES, MS, and HS level - and we haven’t even talked about some of the issues with some of the recent or current ES principals - is misleading. Marshall itself has had relatively good principals, including both Litz and his predecessor. |
PP, you lost me with your PR quip. Agree with the churn through mediocre principals, but if the poster was there only during the previous principal's tenure, then she pretty much saw Kilmer at its best. My youngest and my oldest child experience have been wildly different, even with the same teachers. |
Honestly, if GCM posters want to divert attention from the incident involving a kid with a BB gun in a school bathroom, they should talk about something other than Kilmer, which many consider a school to be endured rather than touted.
Talk about the Marshall senior who just landed the first quad axel in an international competition instead. That's something everyone can probably agree is worthy of note. https://www.fcps.edu/blog/marshall-senior-lands-first-quad-axel |
Yes - Ilia is awesome! My DC is a freshman at Marshall and was amazed that a schoolmate is a world-class athlete. |
