What if I miss BTSN?

The teacher is unlikely to care if you're there, but is likely to care if you're asking her to do extra work. If you want the material, either go to btsn yourself or ask a friend. It's not the teacher's problem.

I have found that if you reach out in advance and say you’ll be asking a spouse/friend to fill you in….the teacher usually offers a call, sends a summary or even sends slides (if they prepared slides). This is for MS/LS. I have always attended HS because that usually the only time I see or hear from the teacher all year.

Seriously! You sound over the top.

How is this over the top? BTSN is very useful at our younger child's school and we know the teachers at that school well because older child went there. No teacher thought it was weird for me to give them a heads up. Furthermore, I didn't end up needing to reach out after BTSN so I do not see how this is over the top?

DH came back saying "x" teacher or "y" teacher says hi - or told me to tell you they were excited to have "younger dc" in their class.

Huh? My DH have gone together every year and split up when we have 2 kids at the same school. Same with many other parents.

Yes this is truly over the top. Only one parent needs to be there?!
