Oh this is me. The middle loses last. I lose weight from places I don’t need to lose like my butt but the roll persists. I’m about your size, maybe a solid 10, and I think if I lost 20 I’d still have the roll. My mom has a totally different build and I do t have sisters or female cousins so it’s just me. |
I have always had a belly roll. Even as a vegan teenager playing soccer and swimming, I had a belly roll. My mother always had a flat stomach even at larger sizes (10/12). I really think it’s just something you have or don’t have. Maybe get lipo? |
This is me. Back when I was in high school and a thin and muscular athlete, I never had a flat stomach. Later I was in the Peace Corps and got dangerously underweight due to some intestinal issues I was 5'8" and a skeletal 101 lbs (my healthy weight is around 135) but I still had a belly roll. It's gotten bigger post having children and I just accept it as part of who I am. But if you're older and you've just gotten it, maybe it will go away if you lose some weight? |
I think based on some of the answers here we need a definition of "belly roll" ...
Bellyroll is excess fat that goes around your front and sides. Bellypooch is that soft cuppable bit below your belly button and above your mons pubis but doesn't go around the sides. |
this It is what it is |
Rafael Nadal has a little belly roll. |
I think it's partly because your skin stretched after both pregnancies, and now it's just much looser. The only real solution is tummy tuck. (I wouldn't do it personally, though.) |
I have an upper belly roll. Like, between my bra line and belt line. I hate it when I sit down. My abdomen and waist are fairly trim when I stand up. Maybe that's everyone's belly roll?. anyway the upper belly roll happened after Kid #2. I just gained weight in a weird place and I also think its stretched skin (I am petite and carried baby high). I think its there for good, although its small enough that I've considered trying coolsculpting to see if it reduces it. |
I got this after pregnancy too. Carried high and it stretched out my upper abs and they never went back. The two things that have helped me are working on my posture (wearing posture correctors, getting a standing desk/better desk chair) and Pilates reformer 2x/week. FWIW I also have a little lower belly pooch that I’ve made peace with. |
Gosh I have both then. |
I have been a size 6 before and after kids. I’m currently a 12 and have to get back to a 6 to get rid of the rolls. It’s smaller when I’m an 8, but still a little pouchy |
This. My sisters are both size 2/4 health fanatics and have the belly roll. I am an 8/10 and have completely given up on losing it. |
I did a TT too, and lipo. So glad I did it and the lipo made a huge difference. The first night after surgery, I could feel the difference in my abdominal skin and was so grateful to have finally rid myself of it. Report back - I'd like to hear about your experience. |
At 135, I have a slight roll. At 132, I do not. |
