I think kids on premises is fine, but agree with headphones. We use those are home as well. |
Next time hand them your number and offer to babysit!
I’ve never taken my kid but I’m pretty sure that these parents wouldn’t take theirs in if they had easy access to childcare. I am like PP who just has lots of sympathy for parents of really little kids and I’ll never begrudge them for taking them places they are allowed to be. |
Hahaha. Good luck with that but as you can see from some of the outraged responses, people don't even understand the concept of this anymore. |
The people posting dramatically about "but, but childcare" seem to think that going to a nail salon is a necessity, lol. The constant screaming in grocery stores etc now is bad enough but people have to grocery shop. Getting a pedicure, not so much.

Children sitting silently don't bother me anywhere. But the kid better not be using electronics with any volume so others can hear.
Same for any other public environment. Parents who let kids use their phone with the volume on are major pills.

My nail salon is packed (nothing fancy, just a strip mall salon in suburbia).
A few weeks ago a mom had a fit because the nail salon would not do a child manicure and foot soak for $5. They told her it would be the regular mani/pedi price because they would have to sanitize the entire station, etc. She argued with them for at least five minutes. Considered paying full price and then marched out and said she was never coming back. The owner shrugged and called the next name on the drop in wait list. |
| Why would someone think that a kid manicure and foot bath is only $5? That's random. |
The person who wants childminder services and a skilled technician’s time for cheap that’s who. |
NP and I've done this once. I told the owner I was not coming back because I don't want to get my nails done in a day-care center. I found a better place. |
Because according to her the foot soak (just water) should be free. She wanted to be charged a change of color fee only. It was very over the top, but made for good entertainment for a few minutes. |
| Go to a more expensive salon. Also, go during the school day. I don’t think I’ve even seen a kid in my nail salon in the 15 years I’ve been going to this one. |
Parents who give their kids screen in public period are pretty crappy. Exception would be airplane travel. |
Um...mani and pedis are not something anyone has to do |

| My 13 yr old daughter who gets manicures is better behaved than the women who yack on their cell phones during their whole pedicure. |
