Avocado and global warming

Still waiting on an answer to this.

How are your kids eating these? I would struggle to know where to put 4 avocados a day.

Also how do you consistently find high quality ones? I find that there are many times throughout a year where they are just not good, and I stop buying them for a while. Do you just soldier on when you get bruised or stringy or tasteless ones?

Just don't buy them anymore. That's how I got our kids to stop eating meat.

Wow, we are a family of five who love avocados, and I thought we eat a lot... about 10 per week, on average, for all of us.

My kids can easily consume 4 avocados a day each. Two avocados in the morning on toast and eggs, one in the afternoon after school as smoothie before soccer practice, and another one in the evening after dinner.

Wow. Some of you really like to overeat and call it normal!

This is totally wild. I have been beating myself up about 2 a week for the whole family. Do you have a private jet too?

Lots of plants are water intensive. If you want to be ideal, you could eat 100% locally but that would be an enormous effort. On the other hand meat and dairy are much worse for the environment so on balance avocados aren’t the worst choice. However, you all are eating an absurd number per day.

Agree with this take. OP, consider replacing 1-3 avocados per person per day with a local, seasonal fruit, vegetable, or nut.

OP, you spend $100 a week on avocados? Yes, cut back! There are plenty of other fruits and vegetables your family can eat, and the variety will be healthier, in addition to being friendlier to the environment.

I normally don't like trolls, but this one takes the <avocado> cake!

Who eats that many avocados?? Sheng Wang even has a bit about having too many avocados (5) to eat. "That's insane!"

Anonymous wrote:$5k/year for avocados? And here we've been blaming millennials and their avocado toast!

(And 1000 calories of avocado per day might not be exactly healthy.)

1000 calories of avocado is much healthier than consuming protein powder.

Getting half of your daily calories from one food source is never a good idea.

The gallons of water you use in one year to support your habit.

And that’s just the water. Then factor in gas for shipping.

Op, I cannot believe you haven’t self corrected this incredibly selfish behavior already.
