How to drop afternoon nap next week

Because he’s napping for 2 hours a day! I’d wake him at 7, and push through and aim for a 7:30 bedtime.

because he naps! Good grief. OP I would aim for a 7pm bedtime ( lights out) to start then gradually push it back. If he needs to get up early for daycare though you’ll probably need to keep it at that time. Don’t plan on car rides after around 3 pm for a while…..

It doesn't matter! 9pm is way too late for a 3 year old. Do you have kids PP? Good grief.
yes and when my 3yo was made to nap at daycare she was falling asleep at 9/930. It’s the reason we pulled out of daycare.

Naps are entirely appropriate at that age, and important for brain development. Good for your former daycare.

Meh, if your kid is staying up until 9pm, it is clear they don't need a nap. A 15-30 minute rest time is probably most developmentally appropriate for a child that age who clearly does not need the extra sleep. People (including daycares) get too obsessed with kids falling asleep for naps at age 3/4 when that is actually when you should be teaching them how to take brain breaks and rests without needing to sleep, as most of them won't need it. It's a more useful skill and won't disrupt nighttime sleep, which is much more important. It also helps them transition to losing the nap in kindergarten.
