Meh, if your kid is staying up until 9pm, it is clear they don't need a nap. A 15-30 minute rest time is probably most developmentally appropriate for a child that age who clearly does not need the extra sleep. People (including daycares) get too obsessed with kids falling asleep for naps at age 3/4 when that is actually when you should be teaching them how to take brain breaks and rests without needing to sleep, as most of them won't need it. It's a more useful skill and won't disrupt nighttime sleep, which is much more important. It also helps them transition to losing the nap in kindergarten. |
