| We stayed at a tiny boutique hotel on the border between the 6th and 7th, near st. Germain but just a short walk to all the tourist attractions. It was actually quite walkable everywhere close in- Paris is a very walkable city. I think it was called the hotel vernueil. It was clean, updated, very Parisian and reasonably priced but not lavish. It was a perfect home base for a couples trip. if you’re looking to splurge there are definitely more worthy options, but I much preferred this location as opposed to the more touristy areas. |

This is such a great location. If I could have afforded it, I would have stayed there. I stayed here and it was really nice and in a great location: https://www.hotelbelami-paris.com/ |
Who the F are you people? |
What do you mean? It is not everyday thing but definitely not unheard of. |
Not a boring part of town. Central location, great for just getting up walking. Easy to avoid crowds. |
Who poses a question as such? Seriously, wake up, look around. There are many people for whom life has not been fair but if you are not one of those group, and could not get it together in the second half of the 20th Century and 1st part of the 21st, shame on you. |
| Splurge on an apartment. So much more room and I like to be able to partake of the cheesemongers, farmer's markets, rotisseries/delis which you can do with a small kitchen. Paris Perfect is who I would use for a splurge. We have previously used ParisVacationApartments.com. They have drivers who know their apartments so you can book transportation from the airport through them. They also found us a babysitter. |
The number of people who use rando babysitters while on vacation is astonishing to me. |
| She was actually the owner of the company's own babysitter. Stay home and be a martyr if it makes you feel better. |

We stayed here:

| The Hotel Majestic has a family suite with two large bedroom areas separated by a large door so you can all live together during the day with separate sleeping areas and separate bathrooms at night. The two rooms have separate entrances too. |
Sound perfect for the OP's family. The Airbnb apartments can be great, but I keep reading that they are mostly illegal in Paris, so I'd hate for the OP to lose her $$ and place to stay (even if the penalty goes to the owner or agency) on her milestone trip. Perhaps not so luxe, but we stayed with teens at this hotel. Lovely location around the corner from Rue Cler, delicious breakfast was included, Eiffel Tower view. Premium category rooms were nice. https://hotel-paris-bosquet.com |
There is a registration process that is relatively simple, and in general, Airbnb will not list a place if it's not registered. You can tell if you read the description, the registration number should be there. In the one linked above, for instance, it is there. |
