Tips for Cirque du Soleil at Tysons - and parking

We had DH drop us all off and pick us up. Worked well. lol

I took 3 teens a couple weeks ago and we really enjoyed it. I prepaid the parking on the website & it was really easy to get in and out.

I went with my 4th grader and it did not keep his interest. It was not as good as previous shows. We left at intermission though I would have stayed if he wasn't so bored. We parked in the garage next to Founding Farmers for $6.75. I believe it is the same one they're selling $20 prepaid spots for.

Shame. The second half was way better than the first.

I just saw the show tonight and I have to agree with PP. The second half had more of the colorful outfits and acrobatic numbers that are typically associated with cirque du soleil.

We loved it and we've seen two other Cirque shows. Do NOT leave at intermission. The second half is the best.

OP here. I've seen more consistently better CdS shows but my 3 teens (19, 17, 16) really enjoyed it as did DH and I. As PPs have said, the 2nd half was better than the first and there were some acts that just weren't that good. Others, though, were fabulous. Throughout, the attention to detail, the costuming, the sets and the music were amazing. It's a smaller venue and no matter where you sit, you've got a good seat. The performers also make sure each 'side' is attended to so you really can sit anywhere.

I wouldn't see Curio again but I would definitely recommend it. Also- if you take small kids be sure to ask for a booster seat. The family in front of didn't get them until after intermission. I can't believe they weren't given them up front.

Went last night with 15 year old son and we enjoyed the whole thing! Lot's of fun. Not as dramatic as Allegria (sp), slower moving and still good.

Bought Groupon and tix were still more than $200. We parked in the mall parking lot without any issues. The seating arena opened 30 minutes before the show. Started 5 minutes late. Ran 2 hours with a 10 min break. Run to the bathrooms which look like porta johns but are like airline toilets to avoid lines. Eat before you go unless you want a $12 bag of popcorn.

The show is a snooze, it's not good. There are 2 good acts interspersed with dreck. My husband was popping caffeine pills to stay awake and the kids were totally bored. If you do go, just park in the mall lot and save your money.

What did you like? I enjoyed the female contortionists and that was too short a performance and the someone else who swung from something. The live music was lovely.
The little woman made no sense to me, nor did the doctors or the woman who walked around with the hoola hoop dress; and what was up with yoyo man? Some parts were like misfits from a talent show.

NP here but the invisible circus was a huge waste of time and so boring. The jugglist was good. Tiny lady was creepy.

I never understood the fascination with Cirque, I think I've been maybe twice, both times because a friend wanted to go so I went along.

Both times I fell asleep after about the first 15 mins. The show is and has always been a literal snooze fest.

We liked the trampoline and the chairs the best. The love music was cool. We did not like the tiny lady.

My kids were bored and also kind of creeped out by the costumes and tiny lady. We left early. Regret spending the money. There were kids in our row asleep on parent’s laps, that’s how boring it was.

It wasn’t very expensive. And more entertaining that most TV these days. My 11 and 14 year olds were entertained. I don’t understand why people bring small kids - it’s not aimed at them and starts past their bedtime.
