FreshDirect alternatives?

I’m so bummed about this, I’ve been a loyal FD customer for years. Peapod/Safeway delivery doesn’t offer the same quality, and they frequently have things out of stock.

Ah darn! I'm really sorry that they're moving away from DC but you made this NYC lady's heart stop!

I got the email and was sad but FD is only a shadow of what it used to be. I order from:

Lyon Bakery. Free delivery with 18$ minimum. Nice stuff and very reasonable. Google "Real Breadwives of Washington." Date from the pandemic.

South Mountain Creamery for dairy. We do their moo club or whatever they call it for free delivery.

Profish DC. You have to pick it up but high quality.

Cold Country Salmon. ALso seafood but in large amounts.

Hungry Harvest for vegetables.

Walmart.com for junk food and panty.

After all these I only go to the store about every three weeks or so.

Yeah they got rid of the stuff I liked to order. What a bummer.

Thrive market is good, too, but no fresh produce

I’m so sad. This brand has been special to me since I started shopping with them as a single girl in New York. I’ll really miss them.

I mean…it is more time consuming bc Fresh Direct had many v good options that other stores don’t have. They had great produce and fresh fish (like a WF) but also stuff you would find at a Safeway and then on top of that their own interesting house made foods. I really liked a lot of their stuff and it was a one-stop-website that took me 15 mins to grocery shop every week bc I just re-upped a prior week order depending on what was needed. Literally 15 mins…v much doubt I find something that fast and efficient for the same variety of food.

Yes, this. I already have South Mountain but I’ll have to find some others now. It’s going to be hard to find one place with all the things, that isn’t also dependent on things like how good the individual shopper is, or what the specific store has in stock that day. Ugh!!!
