I think it has transitioned to a solid girls name just like Lauren and Kelly. I would not name a boy Rory.

It's sometimes used as a short form of Aurora.

It's my former BIL's name, and yes, it's hard to say.

Nice. Very Irish boy name.

I like it (and think it's totally fine for a boy), but also find it hard to say.

Curious why it is hard for some to say? It's "ROAR - ee." Is Roar also hard for you to say? I agree rural is a challenge, but that is nothing like roar.

I like how two of your choices have an S in them.

I don't love it as a collection of letters. Regardless of naming a boy or a girl - I feel like I'm having a stroke when I say it.

This made me laugh.

It's very "rural juror" isn't it? But I always thought of it as a boy's name until Gilmore Girls. I think it would be fine for either a girl or a boy.

If you have an articulation issue with r's it is very difficult to say.

I really like it, for both boys and girls, but I too find it hard to say.

I love the name Rory and also have a secret soft spot for Roarke, both due to my obsession with various romance novel heros of the past, but I agree I have a hard time saying it. Yes, "roar" isn't hard to say, but slipping from the second R into the "ee" sound is oddly tricky.

The only male Rory I know was unable to pronounce his Rs when I knew him in elementary school.

Wowwy was not very popular in school.
