Homeroom teacher info on parentvue?

Is synergy = parentvue? Is there another place I'm supposed to log into? Is synergy = some sort of app that only the kids have access to?

Yes, Synergy is ParentVue. Maybe try logging in on the web rather than on the app, and if not then contact the principal?

Thanks. Checked on the web and it’s also blank. I have to be in the school on Wed so I’ll just ask then.

Synergy and ParentVue are not automatically tied. I'm an MCPS teacher at my kid's school, and the homeroom teacher has been visible to me on Synergy (with whole school access) since Friday, but in my ParentVue account, it's still blank.

Well yeah that just means they haven’t been released to parents. But when the principal tells parents to check Synergy, they mean ParentVue.

At our principal’s zoom Q&A yesterday, they said class lists will be printed and posted at the school on Friday for the open house. For those who can’t attend, they were instructed to call the school on Friday to get the assignment. Seems like I’m 2022 there should be a more efficient way to do this, but I dunno. They seemed to think parentvue would not be updated until next Monday.

Tons of info is in synergy for lots of people in different roles, but only people authorized to see stuff get to see stuff. "Parentvue" is just the part of synergy the parents are allowed to see, with a customized interface for it.

Correct. But principals should understand that distinction and be aware of which stuff parents are currently allowed to see.

I take some comfort that the principals are equally confused as the parents regarding this and lunch accounts.

I hate the "reveal at open house" thing. When the classes are settled, release them on ParentVue. Let kids get excited w/o this need to storm a bulletin board on a playground (elementary).

Yes, WTH is this anyway? We are actually going to be out of town and I didn't realize this was the normal way to get class assignments (last year there was still no in-person open house, I think we got an email from DD's teacher). So I guess I'll keep checking Parentvue and hope it shows up sometime, or ask someone who is attending to find DD on the list. So dumb.

It's not a "homeroom" teacher for ES, it's the classroom teacher.

Agree, such a bad way of announcing class assignments.

Does ParentVue show the teacher name under courses, as well as the specials teacher? Or is the email the only way you could know? TIA

ES parent here- can someone tell me where in Parentvue this information shows up? TIA!

I agree that the roll-out of this announcement could be better. I just realized that our elementary school has not even announced an Open House! I mean, if it going to be done, it would be nice to let parents know so they can plan accordingly.

So I guess I will keep checking ParentVue with the rest of you.
