OP: your husband may be masturbating with the "death-grip" approach. I read about this in Dan Savage's column in the city paper. Apparently if you use too tight a grip when you masturbate you can make it very hard to come through normal intercourse and/or oral sex.

Insist he a) reduce his technique and b) lay off masturbation altogether for a week or so before you have sex with him.
