You send your ES age kid to school in a sunhat? |
| Neither |
Wow, your poor kid! |
| I swipe some bug repellent on ankles bc we often get bitten in the morning when getting out the door. I may swipe a stick of sunscreen on cheeks or forearms if something compels me to - a class trip maybe- but otherwise no. My kids aren't prone to burns. |
|
No bug spray now. When there is EEE or some other mosquito-borne illness going around, we will do bug spray and/or send it.
Sunscreen, sometimes. This one has been a problem for aftercare, where they keep them outside for ages on nice days but it's so long after any sunscreen has been applied. My DD has a couple of sunscreen sticks that she will swipe on for aftercare. Not sure a K'er would be great at that, though. |

| No! If you put it on at seven in the morning it’s all worn off by the time they’re out for lunch/recess. Who’s getting bug bites on their way to school? Really?! |
| No sunscreen, ever. |
| No, never. |
|
Sunscreen yes. Light skinned redheads who walk to school.
Bug spray no. |

Sunscreen on faces on sunny days at three beginning and end of the year. The last two years my kids had lunch outside and they burn easily.
No bug spray, they aren’t walking thru the woods or even grass at recess, just black top and playground. I don’t think they’ve ever gotten a bug bite from school, and we get tons in the evening in our yard. Maybe if they took a field trip to a nature center or something? |
| I don't put on bug spray but do put on sunscreen. I have a redhead. Between lunch outside, recess, PE some days, and extended day she would burn if I didn't (and did burn one day when I didn't apply). |
Naturapel spray claims (on the label) to lasts 12 hours. I have my doubts as to the full 12 hours, but it definitely lasts for the school day for us. |
| Only on field day, usually in late May. The rest of the year, not a chance. Hard enough to just get out the door in the morning, not adding one more thing! |
