Jennie as a full first name?

I like it. We have an Alex and Abby in our extended family and it’s always been fine. I think it’s reasonable and can make sense to name a child what you actually intend to call them.

Also, Jennifer has been out of trend for long enough that Jennie on a baby strikes me as refreshing and sweet while still growing up well.

Oh, Jesus. That’s absolutely ridiculous!

NP not ridiculous if you are not a city girl!

I think people will more than ask her if her name is Jennifer-- they will assume it and call her that, write it on forms, etc.

It's like Brad where maybe it's Bradford or Bradley. Everyone will assume Jennifer.

What about Jenna as a formal name non Jennie? I’m not really into Jennifer either although it’s fine.

the pp is correct. The first definition came up as “female donkey or ass”. I vote ‘no’.

Who cares? No one looks up what names mean.

Probably not a great name for DMV but I love Virginia

My daughter-in-law is Jenna. My son sometimes calls her “Jen”. No one assumes Jennifer. I think it’s a great name, OP.

My DD’s name is Annie (not Ann or Anna). Like others have said, it’s a one line conversation and the other person gets it.

I like Jenny/Jennie a lot, OP.

Of course you can. I was supposed to be a “Jenny” but the Church made them go with “jennifer”. Nowadays… anything goes.

I like the Genny spelling if it's a full name. Jennie looks like a diminutive

I have a 48 year old coworker Jenny.

Her only problem was a decade of people pronouncing her name like Forrest Gump does.

Ha! That's exactly what came to my mind.
How about Ginny?
