I’m a liberal who thinks Maher usually gets it right, and when he does he’s usually hitting it out of the park. He tends to sound the alarm on important issues that a lot of us agree with and he connects the dots as to why the issue is even more critical than most realize.

I just wish more people would listen. I wish he had a bigger platform. I wish cnn embraced Maher’s approach.

I’m very progressive and, while I think he’s a pig and dislike him on principle, I do think he’s very smart and right more often than he’s wrong. Much like Hitchens.

You also support female teachers who rape their male students?

You do realize that it’s 99% men who defend these women, right, with their “hurr, durr, I’d have loved it if my teacher wanted me” comments every time it comes up.

Are you saying this to show why you think Bill Maher is so smart? I guess that does explain a few things.

Muslim, democrat and an immigrant here. I think Bill Maher is spot on. And if you're not muslim you have no right to comment on whether he is anti-muslim or not. We are not a monolith and don't need you to speak for us.

I really do grow tired of this narrative that everything that happened in the past has to be consistent with where we are now. It's the very definition of conservatism... Enshrining an amber the way things are or were.

Maybe Maher can find a real problem to r iff on

Well I happen to think that those changes in cultural ethos and zeitgeist aren’t positive ones. I really do grow tired of how the vocal minority have changed things, and we all have to fall in lock step with it. Enshrining this new (and incredibly annoying) way things are.

Bill Maher was funny once, a long time ago. Why anyone thinks he's intelligent enough to listen to his social commentary is beyond me.

Bill Maher is a washed up old has-been. He is the quintessential unattractive loser with a tiny ***** that no one would ever listen to or sleep with if he weren't rich, and thinks it's because of his inner wisdom and his attractiveness. Gross, no. Let this eyelash-less streak of pelican shit, to quote a famous author, fade away.

Enough with the tiny d!ck shit. It just shows you are the one who lacks intelligence. And common sense.

The pettiness, black and white thinking, and personal attacks here just prove that much of what Maher says is correct.
Why can’t anybody think and speak like an intelligent adult anymore?

Maher happens to have a huge peen so why that insult is thrown About!!!

This thread demonstrates that using Maher-fandom as a quick way of assessing lack of intelligence works.

I’m a liberal and agree with him 100%. Look at Anna Deveare Smith’s work - she embodies a multitude of characters in her one-woman shows; it’s all about finding our common humanity, as Maher said and honestly, that’s what theater is all about, and what makes it do powerful for actors and audience alike.

This “wokeness” is so, so misguided.

Sorry but you don't have the right to tell anyone what to say. Did the pp say they were speaking for you? The pp is allowed their thoughts and feelings even if you think they are wrong.
