In most countries the "a" has an "ah" sound, which is why the mama saying "Nay-dave" on the other thread sounds ridiculous.

Oh, by the way is mama pronounced May-may?

Are all Swedish people as annoying as you

NP. She’s correct about English being the exception, though.

Lol ok and? Should we all petition the people in charge of the English language to change it? What a useless comment.

The irony, you missed it.

Ok, sweetie.

Haha I'm not the person trolling an expectant mother board, ~sweetie~. What a loser.

Ok Swedish person there is no reason to make fun of American accents. You do things differently. It does NOT mean you are superior. I hope you live in perfect Sweden! Can you imagine if an American said this to a Swedish person? There is no way I would ever insult someone's accent if I lived in another country.

You are rude.

My name is Karen, and my DD befriended a Swedish girl in her grade. She, her brother and parents all pronounce my name the way all Americans do.

A lot of the Northeast pronounces it this way too. It's the "merry, marry, Mary merger" in action that makes it sound like Care-ren. I don't have that so it's Kah-ren to me.
