Haha you must be old yourself if you don’t realize so many wealthy young women (teens, early 20’s) wear Chanel bags. I wouldn’t call them the greatest investment but you can sell a Chanel for more than you bought it for 3-5 years later. I sold 5 classic flaps I bought 5 years ago for more than double the original price recently. |

| Agree with classic chanel flap in black. Gold hardware. |
| Just an FYI but Chanel is starting the Hermes game and you won’t find much stock depending on the store. |
Who buys their teen a Chanel bag? I don’t care if you have billions, that is so beyond wrong |
Why would someone do that when they can buy a new one for half? |
DP, because sadly, there’s no place else to go. I love Purse Forum, but even I tire of the excess that can quickly happen over there. I like nice things too, but I can’t get down with 40+ handbag collections worth well north $100K. OP, here’s my advice as a handbag lover and a CF owner of many years - Chanel is pricey. Lord is it expensive. For that reason alone, I would go classic with a CF or a Reissue. The Boy and 19 are gorgeous, but they are ultimately trend bags that I personally believe won’t be around as much in 5-10 years. Not so with the CF and Reissue. - This is not an everyday bag. Sure you could wear it casually, but it’s no workhorse. For that reason alone I would go with the lamb skin which is far more luxurious. The caviar leather seems plasticy to me. - Would recommend a neutral, either black or beige. I prefer gold hardware as it’s dressier, but some people prefer the fresh modern look to silver. - Again, because this is not an everyday bag I wouldn’t go with the jumbo. It’s huge and heavy - before you add your items. Medium is best I think but try them on. Lots of women buy the jumbo and end up selling it. - Bags are harder to get now, but swing by a store, meet an SA you like, and add yourself to the waitlist. You could also go second hand, with sites like Ann’s Fabulous Finds, My Timeless Luxuriee, Yoogi’s Closet, or good ole fashionphile. If you do go second hand, get your bag authenticated. - Do your research! Know what you like and don’t like in a bag, so you can make an informed choice. Plus, the research and trying on is half the fun of a big purchase like this. Good luck and enjoy your new bag in good health! |

Are you new here? I predict a lot of “don’t waste your money” responses. I think there are purse forums that will be more respectful and helpful with your question.
I’m one of the people who wouldn’t be caught dead paying anywhere near full price for a designer bag. |
| the classic medium 2.55 flap silver hardware. never goes out of style |
| what is with these comments? I can't afford a chanel flap but i think they are gorgeous. |
