Can you elaborate more on why the in home therapy didn’t work out well? That is what I’m looking for. |
| We've had a fantastic experience with Positive Development. Started when my DS with ASD Level 1 was about 8. The in home therapists have been great (they are usually just out of college though and focus on playing/good relationship not significant therapy.) And it is covered by insurance. The therapists have been super helpful for talking to me, the parent, also about strategies. |
| Does anyone know if they take Aetna or do they still only take CareFirst (which is what is listed on their website for MD)? |
I think they take Aetna now. |
| Any recent feedback on Positive Development in Bethesda? How are the therapists? Have you had a good experience with the one to ones that come to your house? |
| we have had a totally amazing experience with the aid who comes to the house. He is incredible with our child. They really focus on developing a positive relationship and essentially being a friend to the child. It is not like ABA therapy. It's more just like giving the child positive social interactions |
| We’ve been doing it for awhile there’s been some turnover in therapists but nothing like what we experienced with ABA. I have noticed that my asd child has been more interested in playing in general |
Bump. I would love to hear more about people’s experiences and the advantages of this model versus doing individual pieces (SLP, OT, therapy) through various providers. |
