14 and 16 year old going to concert by themselves

I'm glad to have the experience of going to this concert with him and to be able to talk through some safety/ security issues as they arose (from people offering drugs, mosh pits, pot smoke being blown in face, someone passing out next to us at Metallica). I do think after this experience together, I feel confident in him navigating the next concert on his own and I will thankfully never be subjected to heavy metal music again.

Seeing TXT tonight? I’m going to watch online.

The teens I'm with are into more hardcore rock / punk music, much to my dismay, so we will probably be seeing Turnstile (from Baltimore!) which is same time as TXT.

My 14 and 16yos are going to Kendrick Lamar next week at Capital One.

Love the charger plan and will set up specific meeting spot. Parents will probably get a drink nearby for the last hour.

My 16 yr old is going to Lamar too. What’s a charger plan?

My 14 year old and 2 friends are going to Kendrick Lamar alone next week. They are very excited.

I most def would not!!

I would as long as they have a good relationship and you trust them to stick together.

I would also probably make them look at a map and know where the aide station/office is.

There is no concert experience that is so important. No.

+ 1,000, but it gives them - and you! - bragging rights. Yay.

I would be totally fine with this.

At 15, I went to see Janet Jackson with a 15 yo friend in matching outfits.

My mom dropped us off at the stadium, and picked us up (pre-cell phone!) at the allotted time, at the allotted place.

The earliest I went to a concert without a parent was 10, with a friend, a 14 yo cousin, and a 17 yo cousin.

What do you all think happens? Are your kids not responsible? Do they not follow directions?

They get trafficked.

Bring a portable battery pack for your phone. No where to plug your phone in and it will likely die quickly unless you can charge it.
