Squeezing fruit in the age of Covid

If you're going to sterilize your fruit, something I've done when I had a very immunosuppressed child, please use vinegar which is food safe and not rubbing alcohol.

And rinse like crazy because vinegar doesn't taste great in your berries.

No, it's more neurotic. If you know there are safe ways for neurotic people (like me and you) to disinfect produce, then using a product that is not safe to eat makes even less sense than it would if it were your only choice.

Produce spray would be another good, although probably unneeded, choice. Vinegar's cheaper.

Every day I'm more and more grateful that I'm not a germophobe. Honestly, I feel like I owe my never caught covid due to the fact that I'm kinda grimey. I touch crosswalk signals, elevator buttons, then eat a snack, don't use hand sanitizer, sure as hell don't wipe stuff down or use disinfectants, and am mask free since being vaccinated. My immune system is good because I understand that it's just like a muscle, and a germ-free world is truly terrible for it.

At least 20 people have probably touched that peach - and that's before it gets to the customers. Rinse it off, and you're good to go. WIPING IT WITH RUBBING ALCOHOL? Holy shit, that is truly nuts.
