| Does 401k count? Probably 5k or so but losses now. My savings account maybe $400. I owe money so savings isn’t too helpful now . People interested in savings should check out I bonds. Very high rate |

$12k in 401k. $6k backdoor roth. $10k ibond. $5k brokerage. So total $33k. My income is ~$115 (HHI is $350 but I’m only counting what I save automatically from my paycheck)
I don’t want to think about how much I “lost” with the way the market is though… |
| I’m a nanny and have made $29k since January, babysitting on the side. I’ve saved every penny. Rates in California are so high right now, I’m working 7 days a week because I know this won’t last. I’m working evenings, weekends, any free time. The only time I’m not working is when I’m sleeping. My goal is to make and save an extra 50k this year, so I can finally have myself a little nest egg. |
|
No kids at home.
Goal: Save 1/3 income/month. Reality: Saved 1/4 income/month. |
|
~$27k in 401ks + $18k in employer matches
$16k in 529s $45k in additional savings So a bit over $100k. But that doesn’t come close to the downturns in all those accounts since the first of the year. My 401k alone is down $150k, haven’t looked at H’s in a while. We also bought $40k in i bonds right after the 1st of the year, but that was from last year’s savings. |
| I have no idea but I do know we've basically saved as much as we've lost in the market. Our overall account balances are what they were in January, despite the fact we're putting money away every single month. Feels like we're on a treadmill. |
In these cycles, I have to remind myself that while the account balance is going down, the share balance continues to increase. |
| Not a cent. This has been such a terrible year for me. I need to figure out how to start saving a tiny bit even for just a psychological boost. |
| This year has been a spending year so far, with $110k in home repairs and renovations. Still adding to my 401k. That’s basically been my only savings for years now. Total NW since Jan 1 down a few hundred k with the market and expenses cited above. |
| $11K saved + retirement savings which are annually 10% of HHI ($120K-140K). 3 kids. We would have saved little more but we replaced our furnace earlier this year. |
|
We invested in our children's education, and are staring down the barrel of college costs for our oldest. Ouch. Otherwise, we're mostly in tech stocks, which haven't fared too badly. So all in all - eh, it could be worse. |
| $600. |
| I've managed to save about 5k outside of retirement accounts, but my networth has gone down around 25k due to ~30k loss in retirement accounts. |
